The party was a great success with most teams providing food to all that happened by their dressing room. It was a excellent time to network with other team players and really showed the fundamental policies of SMRHL are to be admired. The league created has proven to be a great success.

Fun was had by all that attended the annual Christmas skate at the Cloverdale arena. Thanks to all that attended with their family and to the efforts of the volunteers that made it possible.

Championship Game’s Mar 27th 2006

Congratulations to the “A” Championship Winner’s - Dams Ford Lincoln Sales with a 5-4 overtime win against Coastal Plumbing.

SMRHL Golf Tournament

Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Guildford Golf Course.

The Event was a great success, with most everyone agreeing to have a golf tournament again. The final count was approx. 70 golfers and about 90 for dinner. Many thanks to the executive especially Sheldon, Matt and Randy for making this possible and the sponsors and donators as the gifts were greatly appreciated by all that attended.

The format was Texas Scramble which is teams of four using the best ball after each shot. Also each player had to use at least 2 tee shots during the round. In the end three teams had tied at six under 66, and the final winner had to be decided by regression, wherein the hole scores are compared from the 18^th hole backwards until the tie is broken. The winning team luckily birdied the 18^th. The team players were: Dave Bullen (Goldroom), Paul Kiendl (Hockey Shop), Randy Kika (Goldroom) and Dick Smith (Hockey Shop).

A good steak dinner was enjoyed by all, and the spirit of SMRHL was shining by the end of the night. Another statement of the great design of this league with all players enjoying the festivities with no team animosity.

Spring hockey

Thursday night drop in hockey begins April 13 and runs through

the summer until August 17. Ice times are 7:45 to 9 p.m. every Thursday on

the wide open spaces of South Surrey Arena (2199 148th Street). For more

Hi Guys

If it is at all possible, I would like this e-mail sent to all the players and added to the Website. I am an executive member of Whalley Little League and we are searching for people to help us put on the 2006 Canadian Championships. As you see by the e-mail, we are having trouble finding help with the billeting of the out of town players. If we an find 2 or 3 families within our league to help it would be greatly appreciated.

Whalley Little League is hosting the Canadian Little League Championships from August 3-13. One of our commitments as host of the tournament is to find billets for the teams from other provinces. This is usually a huge challenge and we are contacting every group within the Surrey District to ask if anyone would be interested.
